Frequently asked questions
Most healthcare feels rushed, reactive, and disconnected. With me, your story actually matters. I blend naturopathic medicine with evidence-informed care, so we’re not just chasing labs or masking symptoms — we’re understanding why your body is doing what it’s doing.
I take the time to listen, connect the dots, and design a plan that fits your real life, not an idealized version of it. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s happening in your body, what we’re doing about it, and why each step matters.
Our first visit isn’t 10 minutes — it’s long enough for you to tell your story without rushing. We talk about your symptoms, yes, but also your sleep, stress, digestion, hormones, environment, and what you’ve already tried. That context is what lets us find the real root causes instead of guessing.
Unlike conventional healthcare, which often focuses on managing symptoms, Dr. Ding takes a root-cause approach by combining:
Advanced lab testing & functional health analysis Personalized nutrition & lifestyle protocols
This multi-dimensional approach ensures that we address all layers of health to provide lasting, transformative results—rather than short-term fixes.
While naturopaths are licensed in 18 states, in North Carolina the licensure effort is still underway and, as a result, Dr. Ding is unable to take insurance at this time. However, you may use HSA and FSA funds for visit fees, lab fees, and supplements purchased through us!
Yes, I offer secure telehealth visits. You can join from home with a phone or computer.

What working together looks like:
Step 1 – Free Discovery Call (15 minutes) A short, no-pressure call to see if we’re a good fit. You share what’s going on; I share how I’d approach it. If it’s aligned, we book your initial visit.
Step 2 – Deep-Dive Initial Assessment We take a detailed history — symptoms, lifestyle, nervous system, hormones, digestion, environment, and what you’ve already tried. If labs are helpful, we’ll decide together which ones actually make sense.
Step 3 – Personalized Plan + Ongoing Support You receive a clear, step-by-step plan: nutrition, lifestyle, nervous system support, and targeted therapies as needed. We adjust as your body responds so you’re not left guessing.
You’ll always know why we’re doing something and what we’re looking for — no more vague instructions or being left in the dark.
After the initial assessment, follow-up visits are usually scheduled anywhere between every 6-8 weeks or every 2-3 months. Once improvement and maintenance is achieved, Dr. Ding sees her patients every 6 months to 1 year.
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of primary health care that addresses the root cause of disease and encourages health and healing using natural therapies. These therapies are often referred to as “alternative” or “complementary” in reference to the conventional healthcare model. Naturopathic physicians integrate standard medical diagnostics with a broad range of natural therapies.
Virtually anyone with a chronic or acute health condition can benefit from seeing a Naturopathic Doctor. NDs are trained to evaluate all body systems when evaluating a person's health issues. Their training includes laboratory diagnostics, physical exam and pharmacology but treatment considerations also include a wide array of natural therapeutics. The patient is asked to become an active part of their own healing journey because ultimately, that healing comes from within.
Naturopathic doctors (NDs) complete four years of doctoral medical training, which includes the same basic sciences as MDs, along with additional education in natural therapies. They also undergo rigorous clinical training and pass extensive board exams to become licensed primary care physicians. For more details, visit the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians website.
Although Dr. Ding is trained to do both things, naturopaths are not currently licensed to prescribe medications in North Carolina. The doctors can order a vast array of blood work and functional medicine testing.
Absolutely! We frequently collaborate with other doctors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and specialists to ensure you receive the best care. We're happy to work with any healthcare provider you are currently seeing.
Healing is completely individualized and therefore it's impossible to predict how long it will take your body to regain equilibrium. Dr. Ding typically works with patients anywhere from three to twelve months; often patients stay with her for life, checking in annually or as problems arise.
