5 Signs of Un-Healthy Breasts

Do you have any of the following symptoms?

  1. Breast pain

  2. Cysts of lumps

  3. Fibrocystic changes

  4. Breast Tenderness

  5. Change in breast size

If you have any of these symptoms, it could represent an imbalance of your hormones. Both progesterone and estrogen play a major role in the health of your breast tissue. Estrogen is involved in cellular growth and breast development, and progesterone protects and helps slow tissue growth. A balance between estrogen and progesterone sets up a stage for healthy breast tissue and breast cancer prevention.

One of the best ways to investigate your hormones is through hormone testing. I often order hormonal testing for my patients, looking at estrogen, progeterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol levels.

Why cortisol levels?

When your adrenals produce more cortisol, your reproduction signals decrease. That means, progesterone decreases, leaving estrogen to dominate. Estrogen dominance is implicated in various states including, but not limited to: fibrocystic breasts, breast tenderness, weight gain, acne, mood disorders, headaches, and irregular/heavy menses.

As many as 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime, therefore, being proactive with breast health is wise. Hormone testing and follow up is crucial to your optimal treatment program.

How does it work?

This is an easy saliva test that will determine if you have a hormonal imbalance. Buy the kit, fill the samples, mail to the lab, and the results should be in a few weeks. Then we will set up an appointment to review them.

Once we know where your imbalance lies, we will be able to create a treatment protocol made up of natural therapies to bring your body back to balance.
