Detox Foods for Better Skin


#1 Lemon

You have probably heard of the suggestion to begin your day with a warm glass of lemon water. Lemon, as well as other citrus fruits, provide our bodies with an excellent source of vitamin C. This vitamin functions as a powerful antioxidant that’s necessary for offsetting free radicals that are produced in the detoxification process.

Additionally, lemons contain limonene, which has been shown to support phase I and phase II metabolizing enzymes, transforming toxins into less toxic forms and preventing DNA damage.

Aim to drink warm lemon water daily for the next week and see how you feel!

#2 Garlic

Garlic is rich in a sulfur containing compounds that aid the liver in phase II, which is how the liver neutralizes toxins. Garlic and other members of the allium family contain specific nutrients that support liver detoxification.

Try incorporating fresh garlic into your meals 4-6 times weekly.

#3 Dandelion Root

Dandelion root is highly regarded as one of the best liver remedies. It can increase bile production and flow to the gallbladder, which is important for the actual excretion of toxic waste from the body.
